The Southern Porch Design Co. aesthetic is rooted in timeless style, comfortable elegance, thoughtful details, and genuine hospitality.

Over the past 15 years, Julia has refined her design expertise through extensive home renovations, including the transformation of an original 1960s ranch and the design of a large custom addition, which has been featured in her contractor's professional portfolio.  As a self-taught designer whose passion for antiques guides her Modern Heirloom style, she also consults on interior design projects locally and across the state, and for a Cary, North Carolina-based tile design studio.

Mandy brings a creative background in graphic design and visual branding, with experience designing for nonprofit organizations, online retail, and a private school in Wilmington, North Carolina. Her eye for composition, color, and presentation ensures every installation feels polished, cohesive, and welcoming.  Apart from their design work, both Julia and Mandy hold master's degrees and built successful professional careers before dedicating themselves to raising their families.

Welcome to Southern Porch Design Co. We're Julia and Mandy—longtime friends, mothers each of three, and passionate believers that a beautifully designed front porch sets the tone for every home.

Our friendship began while serving together in a local ministry for new mothers, where we spent years envisioning and designing events, hosting gatherings, and creating welcoming environments for our community. As our children grew, we found ourselves dreaming about a way to combine our love of design, entertaining, hospitality, and the joy of the changing seasons into something we could share with others.

The inspiration for Southern Porch Design Co. came unexpectedly while celebrating Julia's 40th birthday. What started as a simple idea quickly became a shared vision: to offer clients a luxury, stress-free way to celebrate fall with beautifully curated porch installations. We knew immediately we had found our next chapter.
